IU launches campaign with improvement proposals for San Pedro beaches

The group assures that the project that will carry out PP and OSP will not solve the problems of the coast and they are labeled as "irresponsible"

United Left has begun a campaign of citizen information to request the inclusion of improvements in the project of the jetties for the stabilization of the beaches of San Pedro Alcántara.

According to the IU spokesperson, Miguel Díaz, a project has been chosen that will not solve the problems of the littoral of San Pedro, but that has been done like this «because it is the cheapest, that demands a greater contribution of annual sand and that does not contemplate the withdrawal of the stones and neither it There is no jetty on the central beach, between the Alabardero and the anchor.

Therefore, the training branded the Partido Popular (PP) and option Sampedreña (OSP) of "iresponsables" and accuses them of having "a complete ignorance of the project". For IU, things are getting fast and running "with the pretense of getting a short-term support at the polls", which will impact on the state of San Pedro beaches.

All this has led to IU conducting an informative campaign to ask for the inclusion of improvements in the project and have announced that they will distribute pamphlets with information among the neighbors of San Pedro. In addition, yesterday was held an informative talk that counted with the assistance of various communities of owners of the Littoral Sampedreño, and in which were shown the different plans that could choose the city Council and as in the end they have opted for the cheaper option , although it reduces a breakwater that was contemplated for the central area between the Alabardero and the anchor. A decision which, as they have explained, will oblige us to contribute 200,000 cubic meters of sand: "A real outrage".

On top of that, IU also criticized the denial of the possibility of building jetties that are pedestrianally passable and which also does not contemplate the withdrawal of the large amount of existing bowling, nor the setback of the tubes of the integral sanitation or measures for the Collection of storms, which were included at the beginning, and that in time of temporary cause runoffs in the mouth of the rivers that enter with great violence to the beach, or the construction of the coastal path.

Diaz also rejected the criticisms from the city council, which is accused of presenting allegations that pose the paralysis of the project: "Quite the contrary, what we pursue is to improve the project for the good of the beaches of San Pedro. What bothers the PP and OSP is that we have uncovered their incompetence and demonstrated that they are more concerned about their electoral cravings than the future of St. Peter. '
