The Garden Club Association (La Asociación Club de Jardinería) of the Costa del Sol rewards the desi

Last Friday September 21 took place in the town of San Pedro de Alcántara the awards ceremony that awards every year, as it has been doing for more than half a century, the Club Association of Gardening of the Costa del Sol. The design of the recent remodeling of the Generalife promenade has been one of the projects awarded this year.

In the award ceremony, its president, Remedios Nieto, praised the design of this Paseo del Generalife, highlighting its functional design and good taste in the decoration of all the parts that make up the same.

The award, a beautiful commemorative plaque, was received by the Councilor for Urban Planning, Roads and Works of the Benalmádena City Council Óscar Ramundo, who after thanking the association, on behalf of the entire government team, for having chosen the Paseo del Generalife as one of the winners, said he was very proud that this award is given to the City of Benalmádena, "since the same comes to confirm that the action that has taken place in the Paseo is appropriate."

In addition, the mayor thanked each of the components of the team of design and direction facultative, who were employed thoroughly to achieve a pleasant, inclusive and functional park, without forgetting that in this project, through Citizen Participation, captained by the Councilor Elena Galán, participated all the neighborhood representations, who contributed ideas and needs that were taken into account in the design of it in a consensual manner.

The mayor stressed that this project and the completion of the work "was always considered a priority by this government team. This Paseo del Generalife is valued as one of the most important pedestrian routes in the municipality, due to the fact that in its route there are several centers of great social impact, such as the Ovoid building, a Treasury dependency and also because its location (in the nucleus) central of Arroyo de la Miel) is a link between other areas of public interest, improving this space, making it worthy of its situation for the use and enjoyment of the citizens of our municipality, so we are sure to have met each and every one of the objectives set. "

Finally, the councilor remarked that this work has been able to provide answers to the different neighborhood demands, improving the accessibility and permeability of the Paseo, renewing the floor, installing new LED street lights, creating a new playground and games adapted for children and young people with certain disabilities near the Ovoid Building and the headquarters of the ABAD Association; elimination of architectural barriers such as rungs or overhangs, remodeling of the sports court, changing the entire perimeter fencing more robust and safe and with new basketball baskets; creation of pipican zone, planting of new trees replacing the previous one, and installation of a new irrigation network, among other improvements.
