San Pedro launches bike path on the avenida del Mediterráneo

The deputy mayor of San Pedro Alcántara presented, officially the bike path that runs through the interior of the avenida del Mediterráneo. Located in a passage with abundant vegetation, a children's playground and an area dedicated to the athletes who practice the park, there is this lane that was previously on the road. According to Piña, the location I had before was dangerous because there was only one lane that went in the opposite direction of the cars.

The new lane has a length of 230 meters and is currently only built in the north of this area. The deputy mayor stated that it is intended to carry out the construction of the South area so that the center of San Pedro and the beach would be connected. "We want to unite the center of San Pedro with the beach through the center of the Avenue of the Mediterranean, not by the sidewalks," said Piña.

The rail, made in gravel de ofita in a greenish tone and has counted on a budget of about 88,000 euros, has allowed the creation of 40 free parking in the area of the avenue. With these would be already 70 the parking lots in that area, as the first figure would have to add the 30 that were created in the boulevard, specifically in the Avenida Juan Vargas. "In this area of the avenue of the Mediterranean have prospered many new businesses with which we facilitate, even more, that area of parking for the citizens, and also free", said the deputy mayor.

Besides this, have carried out another series of measures such as the repairs that have been made in the pavement of playgrounds and irrigation of different gardeners, which have been ornamented with about 1,500 plants with the aim of repopulating the area.

On the other hand, the Boulevard has also been the subject of these measures, specifically the auditorium in which the lighting as well as the painting has been renovated. These improvements, together with previous repairs, have cost about 31,000 euros.

The area's sources have also been improved. In particular, paint, waterproofing and maintenance work have been carried out, which have cost about 83,000 euros.
